My role is to support and empower our amazing teachers (YOU!), enhance instructional practices, and ultimately improve student learning outcomes. Through personalized guidance, collaborative planning, and a focus on continuous improvement, I'm committed to fostering a positive and dynamic learning environment for both educators and students alike.  Together, let's drive excellence in teaching and learning as we navigate through a journey together!

Encourage. Equip. Empower.

As an instructional coach at BMS, my responsibilities and structure for my days will vary  depending on the specific needs of our building and district, but here's a quick look at what you will observe and come to expect from me:

Building relationships: Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and other staff members. Building trust and rapport is high priority for me, in order to effectively support teachers in their professional growth and foster a collaborative culture at BMS.

Collaborating with Teachers: Working closely with teachers to support their professional growth and development. This is likely to include observing and participating in classrooms, providing feedback, and offering guidance on instructional strategies, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.

Providing professional development: Planning and delivering professional development sessions for teachers and staff members. This could involve leading sessions during our Monday PD time, organizing training sessions, or facilitating discussions on specific topics such as effective teaching strategies, assessment techniques, or the implementation of new educational and/or NCSD initiatives.

Analyzing data: Collecting and analyzing data related to student achievement and teacher performance. This may involve examining student assessment results, identifying areas of improvement, and working with teachers to develop data-driven instructional strategies.

Modeling best practices: Demonstrating effective teaching strategies and pedagogical approaches by conducting model lessons or co-teaching sessions with teachers. By modeling best practices, I believe I can help teachers enhance their instructional techniques and improve student learning outcomes.

Developing instructional resources: Creating or curating instructional materials and resources that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards. This could include lesson plans, assessments, teaching guides, and other supporting materials to assist teachers in their classroom instruction.

Staying updated on research and trends and continuous personal professioal development: Keeping up with the latest educational research, pedagogical approaches, and instructional technologies. This involves attending professional development conferences, reading educational literature, and staying connected with professional networks to bring new ideas and strategies to the school. I LOVE LEARNING new things and having the opportunity to apply them!
